From the Annals of the Vaporous Realms
When Len was scarcely more than three years old, his brother Sceg was born. Sceg was a quiet babe who closely resembled their father in features and temperament, much as infant Len had taken after their mother. Four-legged creatures took a special liking to Sceg, and he to them.
Codex: The Wright
The Wright was the lord of the heaven-realm, situated above the earthly realm. Most folk reckoned him the king of the unseen realm, the founder of the Vaporous Realms, and the creator of all souls and creatures therein. The folk of the Fangs, the Redeemed kingdoms, and the Children of the Rising Sun regarded him as their chief or lone deity.
The Waveborne were more ambivalent about the Wright. Excepting the Leviathan cults, Nordlings held the Wright in reverence and Livyat in frightful respect. Yet in practice, the distinction was seldom more than nominal.
Traditional-minded Southrons, by contrast, worshiped Livyat outright and regarded the Wright as her archnemesis.
Author Note
The fall is nigh upon us! Autumn is the season that best captures the mood of the Vaporous Realms—which means it's time I dust off the notebooks and fragmented drafts and return to writing stories in earnest.
This week, I'll be touching up Len the Wanderer's recently posted Vaporous Realms at War profile, specifically the RPG part. I'm also finishing up prep for our "Watchers" Kickstarter (ETA Friday, September 13 for launch)!
Happy reading, y'all.
