The leagues-long chasm spewed lightning and winged serpents, amid geysers of fire and water that collided in columns of mist. Its gaping center begat a scaly monstrosity with thrashing silver tentacles. Livyat. Thunder-cracks exploded in Egwae’s ears as their cloud-skiff sped toward the Mother of Serpents. The titan’s beaked snout gaped wide to expose rows of sword-sharp fangs.
One of Egwae’s brothers cried out behind her. A creature with membrane wings and gnashing teeth swooped overhead. Egwae cut a high arc at the chaos minion; it nimbly avoided her white-flame blade. Afore the creature could turn to set upon the Scions, a slender missile of light shivered it in twain. Our lightning, not our foes’! Abandon us the Lord Wright does not, in this fight.
