Scions of the Wright
Spirit-folk from the Dustsong and Westsong Cycles
A Scion of the Wright was a spirit-being born in the heaven-realm. Earthly folk differed on their name, nature, and origin, but the heaven-folk called themselves Scions. The Scions considered themselves sons and daughters of the Wright, their father and liege. They knew no mother, as they were not begat by physical means.
The Wright’s offspring were immortal: they were invulnerable to old age except in rare circumstances, all but impervious to physical injury, and difficult to destroy by the spirit powers of the unseen realm.
Like most spirit-folk, Scions could enter the earthly plane in physical form. They could manipulate aspects of their physical bodies, but each Scion had a natural appearance—or, at least, certain consistent physical traits.
Typically keeping to themselves, the Scions served as the agents, messengers, and warriors of the Wright. A host of Scions aided their lord father in containing Livyat and her chaos horde at the dawn of the Vaporous Realms.
